Anyone else see the most recent tour so far? i must say i was at the NYC Webster Hall show and i was disappointed with the Rev.

Murphys Law - well, its not the 80s anymore and murphys law is murphys law. thats about it for them.

Supersuckers - They blew the house down. These guys rocked. cant say enough about their show. they always put on a great show.

Reverend Horton Heat - Just couldnt get it started. Didnt really like the set arrangement. It seemed they couldnt get the crowd interested. Bad sound did however play into the night but still no excuse. The Rev didnt seem into as well. The last time they came through they rocked. Maybe they just had an off night.

Why would he be into it? He has played the same set and told the same jokes with little variation for over 10 years almost. The only things that changes are the new songs when he has a new record coming out other than that, Same set, same jokes, but minus the classic old school sermon he used to deliver back in shithole bars when he was coming up in the sub pop days. Ironically back then he was the 2nd highest selling act on the Sub Pop roster only second to ... nirvana! Holy fuck batman

funny you should mention the set list. i saw 2 shows over the weekend and he said he read some guy on his website bitching about him doing the same set list for years so he changed it up a bit. but hey, they were my first RHH shows so it was all new to me. the guy is such an amazing guitar player i don't understand how anyone could say his show sucks though. he could outplay most anyone in his sleep. gotta agree about the Supersuckers, they kicked MAJOR ASS!!

His own crew or former crew used to laugh at the setlist as a matter of fact. It was pretty much an inside joke. I love his guitar playing so I do go to every show but I wish it would be changed up at least. Part of the problem is a lot of the songs on his new records just dont have the sing a long hooks or any of the old energy that he used ot have back in the days with taz. Scotty is a great drummer but he may be alittle too comfy in that hard swingy beat that he lays on every fuckin track.

I went to the Nashville show on the 15th. Got all the way to the venue to find a sign that said "TONIGHTS SHOW CANCELLED." Evidently the Rev's sister fell ill, so they were no shows. However, Murphy's Law and the Supersuckers went ahead and performed (the ticket price was dropped to ten bucks). The 'suckers put on an extended set that rocked the hiz-ouse. Getting home at 4am then having to load a moving van in the morning was NOT fun.
